ThermoRadiata (Pinus Radiata)
ThermoRadiata Grading and Classification
A-Graded ThermoRadiata
A-graded ThermoRadiata from New Zealand is a premium grade of thermally modified Radiata Pine, known for its superior appearance and performance. A-graded means the wood is virtually free of knots and imperfections, offering a smooth and clean finish, which makes it ideal for high-end applications like cladding, decking, and exterior facades. The thermal modification process enhances the wood’s durability, resistance to decay, and stability, making it suitable for long-term use in various environmental conditions.
ThermoRadiata Classification
ThermoWood is classified based on the level of heat treatment applied, which directly impacts its properties such as durability, stability, and color. The two primary classifications are Thermo-S (Stability) and Thermo-D (Durability). Thermo-S is treated at lower temperatures, focusing on improved dimensional stability and is ideal for indoor applications like furniture and paneling. Thermo-D, treated at higher temperatures, offers enhanced durability and resistance to decay, making it suitable for outdoor use, such as decking and cladding. We offer all ThermoRadiata products as Thermo-D and Thermo-S classes.
